# \pdfoutput

`\pdfoutput[=]` *integer*

* “`[=]`” berarti tanda sama dengan bersifat opsional.

Fitur `\pdfoutput` perintah digunakan untuk menentukan apakah file yang dihasilkan oleh pdfTeX harus berformat DVI atau PDF. Nilai positif dari *integer* berarti keluaran dalam format PDF, jika tidak, keluarannya dalam format DVI.

**Contoh penggunaan**

* `\pdfoutput=1` menetapkan format keluaran ke PDF
* `\pdfoutput=0` menetapkan format keluaran ke DVI

#### DVI: masih berguna

DVI adalah singkatan dari *Independent Device* dan merupakan file asli [format keluaran untuk mesin TeX](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Device_independent_file_format). Meskipun format DVI telah digantikan oleh PDF, format ini tetap sangat berguna untuk operasi pascaproses khusus seperti mengonversi hasil penataan huruf ke SVG dengan [dvisvgm](https://dvisvgm.de/) atau menghasilkan HTML dari TeX/LaTeX dengan alat seperti [TeX4ht](http://www.tug.org/tex4ht/).
