# Fonts appearing incorrectly

Sometimes, fonts can appear to be distorted or rendered incorrectly in the PDF viewer. If everything is correct in the code, the font should still appear correctly in the downloaded PDF file.

To resolve the problem of fonts not displaying correctly, please try the following:

1. Ensure that your browser zoom is set to 100% or "actual size."
2. Use the Overleaf PDF viewer's zoom controls to adjust the zoom on the displayed PDF as described [here](/latex/knowledge-base/097-is-there-a-way-to-adjust-the-zoom-level-of-the-displayed-pdf.md).

If the issue persists, please try changing the PDF viewer from **Overleaf** to **Browser** using the instructions found [here](/latex/knowledge-base/027-changing-pdf-viewer.md).

If the font is not displaying properly in the downloaded PDF file, there may be a problem with your LaTeX code. To learn more about how to change typeface in LaTeX, check out our [documentation](/latex/fonts/02-font-typefaces.md). The first step in resolving display problems is to [fix all compile errors reported in your project](/latex/questions-and-answers/81-tips-and-tricks-for-troubleshooting-latex.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://overleaf-pro.ayaka.space/latex/knowledge-base/039-fonts-appearing-incorrectly.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
