# Hoe zet ik tekst in Cyrillisch op (bijv. in het Russisch)?

## Inleiding

Om Cyrillische tekst op Overleaf te zetten, moet je een paar extra pakketten laden—welke pakketten precies nodig zijn, hangt af van de compiler die je gebruikt: pdfLaTeX, XeLaTeX, LuaLaTeX of LaTeX (dus DVI naar PDF).

## Cyrillisch zetten met pdfLaTeX of LaTeX

Als je pdfLaTeX of LaTeX als compiler gebruikt, dan zou het volgende werken:

## Cyrillisch zetten met XeLaTeX of LuaLaTeX

De XeLaTeX- en LuaLaTeX-compilers hebben ingebouwde ondersteuning voor UTF-8-gecodeerde tekst, dus het is niet nodig om de `\inputenc` pakket (`\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}`). Sinds 2018 is het niet meer nodig om `\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}` ook met pdfLaTeX—zie de [nummer van april 2018 van LaTeX News](https://www.latex-project.org/news/2018/04/10/issue28-of-latex2e-news-released/) en de blogpost op Overleaf [*TeX Live-upgrade—september 2019*](https://www.overleaf.com/blog/tex-live-upgrade-september-2019).

Voor XeLaTeX of LuaLaTeX kan de [`polyglossia` pakket](https://ctan.org/pkg/polyglossia?lang=en) nuttig zijn, vooral als je een aangepast lettertype wilt kiezen.

## TIP: Hoe je LaTeX-compilers wisselt

Merk op dat je de compiler kunt wisselen naar XeLaTeX of LuaLaTeX door op de **Menu** knop linksboven te klikken en de **Compiler** instelling te wijzigen—de volgende korte video laat zien hoe je dat doet.
