# \hbadness

TEX-engines bieden de opdrachten `\hbadness` en `\vbadness` die worden gebruikt om TEX te helpen bepalen of het een bepaalde horizontale of verticale box als underfull of overfull classificeert en rapporteert. Merk op dat deze opdrachten het uiterlijk van opgemaakte boxen niet veranderen of beïnvloeden; ze bepalen slechts wat TEX *rapporten* aan u.

* `\hbadness[=]<number>`: `\hbadness` geeft een drempelwaarde voor ‘badness’ op die moet worden gebruikt bij het classificeren van een horizontale box als underfull of overfull.
* `\vbadness[=]<number>`: `\vbadness` geeft een drempelwaarde voor ‘badness’ op die moet worden gebruikt bij het classificeren van een verticale box als underfull of overfull.

Voorbeelden van gebruik:

* `\vbadness=1000` of `\vbadness 1000` (het teken “=” is optioneel)
* `\hbadness=500` of `\hbadness 500` (het teken “=” is optioneel)

Merk op dat TEX ook twee aanvullende parameters gebruikt bij het bepalen of een `\hbox` of `\vbox` moet worden gerapporteerd als *overfull*:
