# Vários autores podem editar o mesmo ficheiro ao mesmo tempo?

Sim! Tal como o Google Docs, o Overleaf suporta edição colaborativa simultânea.

O Overleaf também adota algumas ideias de [sistemas de controlo de versões](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Version_control), como [git](https://git-scm.com/): Pode guardar "versões rotuladas", que são como commits, para garantir que, mesmo que outros editem o seu documento, pode sempre voltar a e [comparar com](https://www.overleaf.com/blog/154-a-first-look-at-the-new-version-comparison-feature) versões importantes, como um 'rascunho inicial' ou uma versão que foi submetida para avaliação ou publicação. Também pode [aceder aos seus projetos via git](https://www.overleaf.com/blog/195), para facilitar o trabalho offline.

A tecnologia que alimenta a nossa edição colaborativa chama-se [Transformação Operacional](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operational_transformation), ou OT, para abreviar. As suas edições no Overleaf são enviadas de volta para o servidor a cada poucos segundos e guardadas. Se duas ou mais pessoas editarem o ficheiro ao mesmo tempo, o servidor consegue "rebase" cada alteração em cima da outra alteração, para que todos os clientes acabem com a mesma versão. Para notificar os clientes das alterações feitas por outros clientes, usamos [web sockets](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebSocket), uma tecnologia que permite aos servidores enviar atualizações para clientes ligados.
