# Sett opp Docker

Overleaf kjører på Docker. Du må installere:

* Docker Engine (Docker CE)
* Docker Compose **plugin** (`docker compose`, v2)

Disse trinnene er rettet mot en nyere Ubuntu LTS (20.04/22.04/24.04).

Unngå å installere `docker.io` fra Ubuntus standard apt-repositorium.\
Bruk Dockers offisielle repositorium, så får du en nyere Docker-versjon og `docker compose` plugin.

### 1) Fjern gamle/konfliktende pakker (hvis de finnes)

Hvis Docker tidligere ble installert fra en annen kilde, fjern det først:

### 2) Legg til Dockers offisielle apt-repositorium

Installer forutsetninger:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install -y ca-certificates curl
```

Legg til Dockers GPG-nøkkel:

sudo install -m 0755 -d /etc/apt/keyrings
sudo curl -fsSL https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu/gpg -o /etc/apt/keyrings/docker.asc
sudo chmod a+r /etc/apt/keyrings/docker.asc
```

Legg til repositoriet:

Signed-By: /etc/apt/keyrings/docker.asc

sudo apt update
```

### 3) Installer Docker Engine + Compose-plugin

Installer Docker og Compose-pluginen:

Start Docker ved oppstart:

```bash
sudo systemctl enable --now docker
```

### 4) Verifiser installasjonen

Disse kommandoene skal kjøres uten feil:

```bash
docker --version
docker compose version
sudo docker run --rm hello-world
docker ps
```

### 5) (Valgfritt) Kjør Docker uten sudo

Legg brukeren din til `docker` gruppen:

```bash
sudo usermod -aG docker $USER
```

Deretter **logg ut og inn igjen**, eller kjør:

```bash
newgrp docker
```

Nå skal dette fungere uten `sudo`:

```bash
docker ps
```

Dette er forventet for typiske Overleaf-installasjoner, og spesielt relevant hvis du aktiverer Sandboxed Compiles.
