# TeXLive

[TeX Live](https://www.tug.org/texlive/) is een vrije softwaredistributie die wordt uitgegeven door de [TeX Users Group](https://www.tug.org/) jaarlijks. Het biedt de LaTeX-pakketten, lettertypen, TeX-engines en talrijke softwaretools die nodig zijn om LaTeX-gebaseerde zetwerk op alle gangbare besturingssystemen te ondersteunen.

TeX Live is een belangrijk onderdeel van Overleaf omdat onze servers het gebruiken om je LaTeX-code te compileren en de realtime PDF-voorvertoning te genereren. Het biedt de gebruikers van Overleaf ook eenvoudig toegang tot meer dan 5.000 LaTeX-pakketten in elke TeX Live-uitgave.

Je bent niet beperkt tot het gebruik van de nieuwste versie van TeX Live om je projecten te compileren, omdat de servers van Overleaf toegang bieden tot eerdere TeX Live-uitgaven. Projecten kunnen eenvoudig worden overgeschakeld om een eerdere versie van TeX Live te gebruiken — bijvoorbeeld vanwege problemen met pakketcompatibiliteit.<br>
